(BLOOMINGTON) – Aldi officials have chosen to open a second Bloomington grocery store by the end of summer in the former Barnes & Noble location.
The Herald-Times reports, Barnes & Noble officials announced late last year that they’d be closing the bookstore at 2813 East Third Street by February, after more than 23 years of service. Now, Aldi has plans to remodel that building to open a store by late summer.
Aldi will remodel and expand its existing store on the west side of town, at 2035 S. Liberty Drive. The measures are part of a company-wide expansion plan investing $5 billion in 2,500 locations by the end of 2022.
