Lawmakers Look At New Rules For Flying Police Drones

(UNDATED) – Police departments across Indiana may soon no longer have to worry about a search warrant if they want to fly a drone.


Lawmakers are considering a plan from Fort Wayne State Representative Bob Morris that would clear the way for police to use drones more often.

His plan would allow officers to fly drones over accident scenes or large gatherings, and then use any information they find.
This kind of surveillance sometimes runs into Fourth Amendment questions at trial.
