(BEDFORD) – A Bedford woman was injured after crashing her car Wednesday morning on Old State Road 37 near Bennett Road.
Lawrence County deputies responded to the crash at 5:49 a.m.
According to police, 33-year-old Jerrel Bennett was traveling north, north-east on Old State Road 37 in a 2016 Ford Fusion, north of Bennett Road when her car hydroplaned on the wet roadway.
The vehicle ran off the east side of the roadway.
Bennett told police she attempted to correct the car by steering it back onto the road but was unsuccessful.
The car collided with a tree and other vegetation before spinning around stopping facing west.
Bennett suffered minor bleeding to her right hand and was treated at the scene.
The vehicle suffered front-end damage and was towed by Mikels Wrecking Service.
An IU Health Hospital ambulance and Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Department first responders assisted at the scene.
