(SHELBURN) – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office says an employee of the Dollar General Store in Shelburn was in possession of a large trash bag full of money when they arrested him Monday for taking several thousand dollars out of the store’s safe.
An employee noticed the front door was unlocked and the alarm had been disarmed. The safe was open, and money was missing.
Police found 28-year-old Dustin Cottrell through a list of employees.
They suspected someone with inside knowledge was behind the break-in.
He was booked into the Sullivan County Jail on charges of burglary and theft.
