  • 1:40 p.m. Tessla Wichilacz, 41, North Veron. driving while driver’s license suspended with a prior conviction

Incidents – Jan. 1

  • 5:09 a.m. Suspicious person at Speedway. The caller reported there was a person slumped over the steering wheel of a grey Malibu. The driver was gone when police arrived and according to the store clerk had left headed towards Bedford. Officers checked both directions and could not locate the vehicle.
  • 6:28 a.m. Report of a vehicle stuck on the railroad tracks on 8th Street in Mitchell. A wrecker was called to the scene
  • 6:51 a.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 500 block of North Sandstone Road
  • 7:22 a.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 130 block of Burkwood Hills Lane
  • 9:19 a.m. Report of a suicidal female attempting to harm herself with a knife in the 1970 block of Hickory Grove Road. The caller has taken their 3-year-old and went to a neighbor’s home. An AMR ambulance responded to the scene. The female refused to go to the hospital
  • 9:27 a.m. Follow up investigation in Jackson County
  • 9:34 a.m. Lift assist in the 250 block of Briarwood Lane
  • 10:35 a.m. Traffic stop at Bartlettsville and Younger roads. James Ingalls, 32, of Bedford, was cited for speeding
  • 11:09 a.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 130 block of Valley Lane
  • 11:23 a.m. Burglary in the 460 block of East Grissom Avenue
  • 11:46 a.m. Fire alarm sounding in the 120 block of Rueter Lane. It was a false alarm
  • 1:04 p.m. Controlled fire in the 1210 block of Indian Creek Camp Road
  • 1:29 p.m. Officers made extra patrols at Greenwood Retreat Road
  • 2:26 p.m. Traffic stop at Mitchell Road at the bypass
  • 2:40 p.m. People were fighting in the middle of the road at Old State Road 37 between Johnny Junction and the Crest Motel. The fight was because of a road rage incident after one vehicle swerved in front of the other. The vehicles involved were a silver van and blue Chevrolet pickup. The caller is a witness to the incident. When police arrived the vehicles had left the scene
  • 3:19 p.m. Controlled fire in the 1160 block of Todd Lane
  • 4 p.m. Citizen dispute in the 970 block of WPA Road. The caller says his ex-wife came to his home to pick up her belongings and while there she took his dog and left with it. The dog was given to him per their court agreement. The ex-wife told police she would return the dog. At 6:19 p.m. the woman returned to the home with the dog and is now refusing to leave and is standing at the door screaming at the male. At 6:28 p.m. the woman left the home and left the dog there.
  • 4:07 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and State Road 158
  • 4:47 p.m. Medical emergency in the 3300 block of Springville Judah Road. A 69-year-old male was suffering chest pains
  • 5 p.m. Disabled vehicle at State Road 37 and Main Street in Oolitic
  • 5:12 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Stephens Street. The driver, who was not named, was cited for driving while driver’s license suspended, false plates. The vehicle was towed
  • 5:28 p.m. Medical emergency at Johnson Christian Village. A 91-year-old was unresponsive
  • 5:32 p.m. Medical emergency at Persimmon Park Apartments. A 55-year-old female was bleeding from their face
  • 5:41 p.m. Citizen assist in the 850 block of Valley Mission Road. A female told police she is holding several firearms for her father who is unstable and now he is wanting them back and she is reluctant to give them to him. The female was told to give the firearms back to her father
  • 5:49 p.m. Officers were out with a vehicle at US 50 East and Shawswick Station Road
  • 5:55 p.m. Disabled vehicle at State Road 37, south of the Oolitic stop light
  • 6:07 p.m. Alarm sounding at Mitchell Wesleyan Church on Frank Street. It was a false alarm
  • 6:15 p.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 310 block of West Warren Street
  • 6:19 p.m. A person was at the Mitchell Police Station about a protective order violation. Police then went to Camelot Court apartments
  • 6:22 p.m. Controlled fire in the 650 block of Roberts Lane
  • 6:32 p.m. Traffic stop in the 3210 block of 29th Street at Arby’s
  • 6:35 p.m. A female inmate was transported to IU Health Hospital
  • 6:51 p.m. Request for animal control to the 300 block of Gresham Road for a stray grey pitbull that showed up at the caller’s home yesterday.
  • 6:54 p.m. Alarm sounding in the 560 block of Harold Smith Road. it was a false alarm
  • 7:41 p.m. Medical emergency in the 910 block of Crawford Street. A woman was not feeling well
  • 7:42 p.m. Medical emergency in the 1300 block of K Street. A 62-year-old was having trouble breathing
  • 8:13 p.m. Citizen dispute in the 100 block of Quiet Lane. The caller requested to speak to an officer about an eviction notice
  • 8:42 p.m. Officers made extra patrols at Carousel Winery
  • 8:51 p.m. Noise complaint i the 120 block of Woodland Drive. The caller heard several loud explosions in the area of the GM plant. Bedford Police also received several calls
  • 8:55 p.m. Report of four loud gunshots in the 410 block of North Jackson Road. The caller says police were at her home last night because someone had busted out her window. Police walked around the area and found no problem but will make extra patrols
  • 9:25 p.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 410 block of North Jackson Road
  • 9:47 p.m. Traffic stop at 11th and Main streets
  • 10 p.m. Medical emergency in the 320 block of Liberty Bell Street. A 73-year-old male was having trouble breathing
  • 10:52 p.m. Medical emergency at Mitchell Manor. A 90-year-old female has pneumonia and low oxygen levels and is lethargic
  • 11:09 p.m. Report of a suspicious person at Bedford Middle School
  • 11:11 p.m. Report of a black and white cow in the roadway at State Road 446 and Erie Church Road

  • 12:27 a.m. Traffic stop at Tunnelton Road and Brookside Drive
  • 12:32 a.m. Unwanted male at a home in the 1450 block of Norman Road. The male was at the home yesterday and was stealing items, and a report was made. Jackson County was alerted to look for the male driving a red Ford Focus with a missing passenger side mirror. The male is in possession of a possible stolen .22 pistol
  • 1:45 a.m. Request for animal control to the 190 block of Sportsman Club Road for an injured deer caught in a fence
  • 2:52 p.m. Medical emergency in the 1300 block of K Street. A 73-year-old male was having trouble breathing
