Burel D. Houchin – Bedford
October 3, 1934 – April 20, 2018
Burel D. Houchin, 83, of Bedford, died at 3:05 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Westview Nursing & Rehab. Center.
Born October 3, 1934 in Gleesan, IN, he was the son of Robert L. and Dephne Mae (DeJarrett) Houchin. He married Betty Jo Bottoms on November 21, 1953 and she survives. He retired from General Motors in 1995 after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Jay-C’s in the late 1960’s and a member of the Lions Club where he helped make many floats for local parades. He was a U.A.W. retiree where he was past president. He enjoyed woodworking and loved his family and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Bedford; a son, Burel Keith Houchin, of Berry, KY; a daughter, Gaye Lynn Copeland, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Kassandra Bollinger, of Fort Lee, VA, Heather Copeland and Garrett Keith Houchin, both of Bedford; one great grandchild, Killian Gmachowski, of Fort Lee, VA; a sister, Alice Marie Mason, of Pacific, MO; a brother, Carol Wayne Houchin, of Washington, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Blain Houchin; sisters, Maxine Riley, Imogene Matthew, Bonnie Whitney, and Rose Mary Smith, and two (in infancy); brothers, Jim Bob, Arthur Lee, Bryce, and Frank Houchin.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, April 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Private burial will
be at a later date in Vincennes.

Chrystal Allene Patton – Indianapolis
August 17, 1922 – April 19, 2018
Chrystal Allene Patton, 95 of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
She was born on August 17, 1922 in Bedford, IN, to Joseph Allen Hart and Blanche Violet (Isom) Hart-Faubion. Chrystal attended Bedford High School and graduated in 1940.
She moved to Indianapolis and started working at L. Strauss and Co. and stayed 27 years as a sales consultant.
Chrystal enjoyed traveling with her sister, Genie and went to a number of National Parks, where she had fun hiking. She also loved going on cruises and making new friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Keating; and granddaughters, Kristie Keating and Jamie Keating Lord (Matt). She treasured her two great grandchildren, Will and Libby Lord and enjoyed visiting with them. She also has
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Jean Patton; her brother, William S. Hart; and her sister, Emogene Hart.
Visitation will take place on April 23, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd., from 5 to 8PM. A brief graveside service will take place on April 24, 2018 at Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca, IN at 11 a.m.

Regenia Lynn Box – Mitchell
April 28, 1960 – April 18, 2018
Regenia Lynn Box, 57, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 28, 1960, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Vestal and Violet Lynn (Ratliff) Smith. She married Harold Edward Box and he preceded her in death April 18, 2004.
Regenia had been employed at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1979.
Survivors include her children, Jonathon Edward Box of Mitchell, Ashley Lynn Box of Campbellsburg, Andrew Tyler Box of Orlando, Florida; siblings, Phyllis McSherry of Bedford, Ronnie Smith of Mitchell, Clarence Smith of Bedford
Her parents; husband; and brother, Eugene Smith, preceded her in death.
Cremation was chosen with no service.
