Richard L. “Dick” Burton, Sr., 77, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born March 19, 1940, in Bloomington, he was the son of Harold and Geneva (Hacker) Burton. He married Mary Wolfinger on July 2, 1966; she preceded him in death on December 2, 2002. Richard was a retired painter. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He attended Restoration Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are three sons, Scott A. Hensley, William R. “Robbie” (Alison) Burton, and Timothy L. (Tawnya) Burton; three daughters, Katherine “Kathy” J. (J.R.) Sons, Kimberly Joyce (Steve) Hanson, and Crystalee Ann (Tim) Schultz; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Janice Powers; one brother, Buddy Burton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; one son, Richard L. Burton, Jr.; and two sisters, Patty Nikirk and Jeannie Godsey.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, with Robert Rosenbaum and Pastor Ken Bushey officiating. Burial will be in Tunnelton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral chapel.

Anetra Jean Kendall – Mitchell

Anetra Jean Kendall, 81, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.
Born December 7, 1936, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Orgal and Lavon (Johnson) McCart. She married Don Kendall May 23, 1953, and he preceded her in death March 15, 1998.
Anetra retired from Mills Market with 34 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and devoted her life to helping others. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Jeff (Connie) Kendall of Mitchell; daughter, Kim (Brent) Leonard of Mitchell; grandchildren, Matt (Kristen) Woods; Holly (Chris) Thompson, Chris (Brandi) Woods, Anthony Kendall, Abby Leonard; siblings, Don (Carolyn) McCart of Bloomington, Nancy Boofer of Bedford, Amy (Dennis) Alcorn of Bedford
Her parents; husband; mother-in- law, Nora Kendall; and daughter-in- law, Sherry Kendall, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 2, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Reggie Clark officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Casketbearers: Matt Woods, Chris Woods, Anthony Kendall, Lawson Woods, Kamron Roop, and Tate Woods.
