Donald L. “Leroy” Briscoe, 80, of Mitchell, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born January 17, 1937, in Mitchell, he was the son of Ora Virgil and Hopal Vera (Matthews) Briscoe. He was married to Varda Jacqueline “Jackie” Kern February 16, 1957, and she preceded him in death December 14, 1962. His second marriage was to Shirley (Walts) Hamilton November 20, 1964. Leroy retired from Dana Corporation and was a member of Tulip Street Christian Church. He enjoyed racing, woodworking, fishing, and yard work.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Briscoe of Mitchell; children, Diana (Larry) Caudell of Mitchell, Kevin (Cathy) Hamilton of Sardinia, Ohio, Denise (Mark) Riker of Bedford, Debbie Terrell of Bedford; grandchildren, Stephanie Oliver, Christie Bunch, Gearry Caudell, Bradley Hamilton, Michael Riker, Laura Hamilton, and Samantha Terrell; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (June) Briscoe of Bloomington, Bonnie Duncan of Bedford, Richard (Charlotte) Briscoe of Mitchell, Basil (Karen) Briscoe of Mitchell
His parents; first wife; son, Kim Alan Hamilton; son-in- law, Chris Terrell; and siblings, Louis “Doodle” Briscoe, Wilbur Briscoe, James Briscoe, Walter “Bus” Briscoe, Frances Briscoe, Fern Watson, and Ruby Smith, preceded him in death
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 15, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Max Timbrook officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Beverly Sue Sipes – Shoals
March 6, 1943 – December 10, 2017
Beverly Sue Sipes, 74, of Shoals, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, at
Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born March 6, 1943, in Trinity Springs, she was the daughter of Herschel and Anna
Melvina (Cox) Runyon. She was married to Larry W. Sipes, and he preceded her in
death May 2001.
Beverly was a homemaker and a member of Dover Hill Christian Church. She enjoyed
crocheting and shopping.
Survivors include siblings, Charlotte Marie Goffinet-Grimes of Mitchell, Kathy C. Jones of Paoli
Nancy Schvonn Howell of Bedford, Jo Karol Baker of Bedford
Her parents, and sister, Better Lou Taylor, preceded her in death.
Cremation has been chosen with burial at a later date in Trinity Springs Cemetery.
