Sarah E. Floyd, 86, of Bedford died at 5:57 am on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Westview Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born November 3, 1930 in Lawrence County she was the daughter of Clyde and Ida (Baker) Emmons. She married James Floyd in 1954 and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene. She retired from GE in Cleveland, Ohio.
Survivors include one brother Clifford Emmons and wife Frances of Bedford; one sister Laura Stanton of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James E. Floyd, two brothers, Ollie, and Doyle Emmons, and three sisters, Geneva McKnight, Clara Mae, and Gladys Blair.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 21st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ken Bushy officiating. Burial will follow in the Leatherwood Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20th.

Margaret Jean Tarr, 78, of Mitchell, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 18, 1939, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of William Clem and Mallie Golden (Ashley) Cole. She was married to William Clinton Tarr. Margaret was a homemaker and loved baking with persimmons and berries. She was a
member of Fishing Creek Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, William Tarr of Mitchell; daughters, Cynthia Jean King of Mitchell, Jamie Allen Lewis of Mitchell; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Bob Cole of Indianapolis, Violet Bohart of Indianapolis, Geneva Hardin of Indianapolis, Mary Salmon of Bedford, Steve Cole of Bedford, Dave Cole of Indianapolis
Her parent; son, Timothy Allen Tarr; and sisters, Mildred White and Mallie Blanton, preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, at Beech Grove Cemetery with Yancy Unger officiating.
