Arnold Dewayne Shelton, 70, of Bedford, passed away Saturday afternoon at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born November 11, 1946 in Bedford, he was the son of Gerald Shelton and Ruby Lessig Shelton. He retired as a cook from Hobby’s Inn in Bedford after 27 years. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army during Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Surviving are five children, Holly Goodman, of Bloomington, Lee Shelton and his wife Kim, Allison Brock and her husband Adam, Alyssa Shelton, Christopher Shelton and his wife Whitney, all of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Heather, Michael, Brandon, Logan, Adalia, Sasha, Nathalie, Mercedes, and Ruby; two great-grandchildren, Max and Cecilia; three brothers, Jerry, of Mitchell, Stephen and his wife Sandy, of Shoals, Jim and his wife Linda, of Mitchell; one sister, Sheila Shelton and partner Diane, of Bedford.
He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Chet Shelton.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 pm Wednesday, March 22nd at the Bass Cemetery with military rites accorded by Gillen Post# 33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until Noon at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
