Michael K. Church – Mitchell

Michael K. Church, 71, of Mitchell, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born July 31, 1945, in Oakland City, he was the son of Cecil and Doris Church. He married Regina “Jean” Baker March 3, 1990. Mike was an electrical engineer and retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division. He was a member of the Mitchell Church of Christ and was a devoted worker and treasurer of the Bread of Life Food Pantry. Mike was a “tech” person and a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Church of Mitchell; daughter, Amber (Scott) Gilstrap of Bedford; grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Allen Burris officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at Owensburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
