Rudy David Brown, 62,of Mitchell, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2016, at his residence.
Born July 31, 1953, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Robert James and Johanna (Butterfield) Brown. He married Leona Christine Shabert, and she preceded him in death. He then married Virginia Smith October 13, 2012. He had been employed as a carpenter with Southwest Services. He graduated from
Mitchell High School in 1971. Rudy was a member of Bride of Christ Fellowship, and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brown, Mitchell; children, Joey Dean Brown, Bedford, Sarah Elizabeth Moody, Bedford,Crystal Brooke Bissonnette, Orleans; stepson, Andrew Heady, Mitchell; brother, Bobby Brown, Venice, Florida; grandchildren, Jenna Brown, Victorya Moody, Jon Godsey, David Godsey, Elizabeth Godsey, Gavin Bissonnette, Merrick Bissonnette, Liam Bissonnette, and Charlie Bissonnette
His parents; wife, Leona Christine Brown; and daughter, Victoria Brown, preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Wilma A. McPike – Bedford

Wilma A. McPike, 86, of Bedford, died at 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Westview Nursing and Rehab. in Bedford.
Born December 30, 1929, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Elmer A. and Effie (Knuckles) McKinney. She first married George Lively, later she married Wayne Wessell and he preceded her in death. She then married Gerald McPike who also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of the Englewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Brenda J. (Lively) Shirley, of Bedford, Terri L. (Lively) Jones and husband, Mike, of Columbus, IN, Tony Wessell and wife, Christine, of Bedford, and Tammy Jo (Wessell) Smoot, of Bedford; seven grandchildren, David W. Luttrell, Sherry Underwood-Crane, Tonya Underwood-Cook, Trent M. Fleener, Dustin Wayne Wessell, Mindy Wagner, and Danial I. Todd; fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and thirteen brothers; sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 29th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kenny Dalton and Cameron Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday, July 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
