James Robert Erdle Jr. – Mitchell
January 7, 1948 – June 21, 2016
James Robert Erdle, Jr., 68, of Mitchell, passed away Tuesday evening, June 21, 2016, at his residence.
Born January 7, 1948, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, he was the son of James Robert and Evelyn (Townsend) Erdle, Sr. He married Sharon Lee Thompson October 26, 1974. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1966 and his hobby was shortwave radios. James was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Erdle of Mitchell; son, William James Erdle of Mitchell; mother, Evelyn Townsend of Coral Gables, Florida, sisters, Shirley Gunn of Lighthouse Point, Florida, Beverly Taylor of Fort Wayne; stepbrother, Richard Clark of New York; his father; stepmother, Estelle Erdle; sister, Shonda Howard; and brother, Michael
Eugene Erdle, preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 11 a.m. till 12:45p.m. Saturday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Joan Marie Wray – Zionsville

Joan Marie Wray, 85, of Zionsville, formerly of Bedford, died at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Zionsville Meadows Nursing Home.
Born August 4, 1930 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of John and Catherine (Dillman) DePierre. She first married Billy Joe Wray and he preceded her in death. She later married Harold Dwight Murphy and he also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Dean Wray and wife, Lucy, of Danville, Mark David Wray and wife, Lisa, of Mitchell; a daughter, Stormi Murphy Brake and husband, Jack, of Zionsville; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Rebekah, Cory, Morgan, Mia, and Kaitlyn; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Donnie DePierre, of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son, Michael Joe Wray; two sisters, Betty Robbins and Delina Turner; two brothers, Stephen and John “Buddy” DePierre.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Greg DeVore officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, June 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Dementia Society of America.
