Joseph M. Baker – Norman

Joseph M. Baker, 83, of Norman, died at 6:57 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at I. U. Health, Bedford.
Born September 3, 1932, in Lawrence CO., IN, he was the son of Millard Baker and Pearl (Voorhies) Baker.
He married Mary Alice Freeman on June 13, 1964, and she survives.
He was a self-employed roofer and painter, retired. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Springville and also a member of the Bedford Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice, Norman, IN; two daughters, Linda and Brenda, both of Iowa; one brother, James Baker and one sister, Reva Mundy, both of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with
Bro. Bob Phillips and Bro. Jerry Eads officiating. Burial will be in House of Prayer Cemetery, Fayetteville.

John Robert Tomlinson – Mitchell
July 30, 1954 – May 11, 2016
John Robert Tomlinson, 61, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday evening, May 11, 2016, at his residence.
Born July 30, 1954, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Robert Vernon and Lucille Tomlinson.
John was an IT Specialist and had been employed at AT&T. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1973 and was a member of the Jacob Finger United Methodist Church. John was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and the Air Force Reserves. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Nicole (Randy) Laird, Shiloh, Illinois; sister, Brenda (Tomlinson) Varnes, Blountstown, Florida
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Lee Hupp officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
