Mary Bartlett – Bedford
December 20, 1928 – March 27, 2016
Mary Bartlett, 87, of Bedford, died at 7:20 pm on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at her residence.
Born December 20, 1928 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Elmer and Maude (Giles) Johnson. She married Forrest Ed Bartlett and he preceded her in death. She retired from the Indiana Employment Security Division after fifty years of service.
Survivors include a son, Phil Bartlett and companion, Linda Breedlove, of Bedford; a brother, Dale Johnson of Bedford; two nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ed Bartlett and a brother, Charles Johnson.
A private graveside service is planned at Green Hill Cemetery with John Lee officiating. No visitation hours are scheduled.

Elmer “Coon” Strunk – Bedford

Elmer “Coon” Strunk, 79, of Bedford, died at 7:24 am on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at his residence.
Born August 4, 1936 in Bedford, he was the son of Elmer Strunk, Sr. and Zina Mae (Hughes) Strunk. He married Martha Ann Payton on May 10, 1997 and she survives. He was a dragline operator for Reeds Quarry in Bloomington. He was a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church and a former member of the Peerless Pentecostal Church. He was a member of National Laborers Union Local #741 and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Martha, of Bedford; a son, James Elmer Strunk of Patton Hill; three daughters, Kelly Boruff and husband, Jeff, of Patton Hill, Leana Strunk of Plant City, FL, Sherri Cross and husband, David, of Martinsville; a step-son, David Ramsey and wife, Debby, of Sullivan, IN; a step-daughter, Joy Easton and husband, Kevin, of Oolitic; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Joyce New Strunk; a brother, Rick Strunk and a sister, Teresa Webb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, April 1st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bill Johnson and Bro. Kevin Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 31st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Peggy Sue Oldham – Bedford

Peggy Sue Oldham, 83, of Bedford, passed away surrounded by her family at 4:27 pm on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Bliss Place in Bedford.
Born September 27, 1932 in Slaughters, KY, she was the daughter of Herbert and Mabel (King) Nance. She married Maurice E. Oldham on March 3, 1951 and he survives. She was a homemaker and member of the Hillcrest Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice of Bedford; a daughter, Lesa Miller and husband, Tim, of Bedford; two sons, Brent Oldham and wife, Kristine, of Simpsonville, SC and Steve A. Oldham and wife, Debbie, of Pendleton, IN; seven grandchildren, Kyle Oldham, Eric Oldham, Doug Oldham and wife, Laura, Patrick Oldham and wife, Kristina, Ashley Pritchard and husband, Neil, Lauren Wolfe and husband, Mike and Austin Humphrey; four great grandchildren, Violet Oldham, Harper Oldham, Mia Wolfe and Kaden Humphrey; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Billy Joe Nance and wife, Betty.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the hour of services on Wednesday, March 30th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends consider memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Assoc. or Hillcrest Christian Church.

Robert Edward “Bob” Dailey – Bedford

Robert Edward “Bob” Dailey, 73, of Bedford, passed away at 4:55 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born March 28, 1942 in Pennsboro, WV, he was the son of Edward G. and Opal P. (Leasburg) Dailey. He married Karen L Porter on November 4, 1978 and she survives. He retired as an engineer for General Motors in 2007 after forty-three years of service. Bob enjoyed being involved with Shawswick Middle School football where he had coached for over thirty years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #33. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and doing activities with them.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, of Bedford; two daughters, Brooks K. Rush and husband, John, of South Carolina, Becky A. Johnson and husband, Chris, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Finley, Fallyn and Foster Johnson; one aunt and two cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Michael Dailey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Minister John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
