Nelda Virginia Davis – Bedford
April 24, 1917 – September 8, 2015
Nelda Virginia Davis, 98, of Bedford, died at 12:03 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born April 24, 1917 in Thompkinsville, KY, she was the daughter of Charles Lee and Oma (Rhoton) Davis. She retired from RCA in Bloomington. She was a member of the Bedford Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She is survived by a sister, Dorcas Davis of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Anna Davis and a brother, Cornell Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Doug Kimball officiating. Burial will follow in
Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from Noon until the hour of service on Friday, September 11th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Donald L. “Don” Nolan – Mitchell
March 29, 1936 – September 7, 2015
Donald L. “Don” Nolan, of Mitchell, died at 1:33 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2015 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born March 29, 1936 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Pete and Hazel (Hopper) Nolan. He married Brenda King on August 8, 1959 and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2009. He had worked as a manager at the Jay-C Store and later worked at Carpenter Body Works in Mitchell. He retired from Visteon in Bedford. He was a member of the New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and on the Board of Trustees.
Survivors include a daughter, LeAnn Tolliver, of Mitchell; three sons, Jim Nolan and wife, Tammy, of Evansville, Mark Nolan and wife, Lisa, of Oolitic and Brad Nolan and wife, Tammy, of Mt. Vernon; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; a brother, Bob Nolan, of Mitchell; a sister, Pat Wells of Bedford; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister, Bonnie Burton and a great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. on Friday, September 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Mark Brock and Pastor Brad Nolan officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday, September 11th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
