Lillian A. Leahy – Bedford
Lillian A. Leahy, 93, of Bedford, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Edward R. Stevens – Evansville
Edward R. Stevens, 73, formerly of Bedford, passed away Saturday, July 25th at Evansville Hospital.
He was a painter and of the Pentecostal faith.
Private services will be conducted at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Cecil Gary Goldsby – Bedford
April 29, 1933 – July 24, 2015
Cecil Gary Goldsby, 82, of Bedford, died at 7:10 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at I.U. Health, Bloomington.
Born April 29, 1933, in Bedford, he was the son of John Monroe Goldsby and Nora (Brown) Goldsby Ritter.
He married Phyllis June Morgan on July 30, 1955; and she survives. Cecil worked in maintenance at G. M. Powertrain, Bedford, from where he retired, in 1989; he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea and attaining the rank of Corporal; he was of the Protestant Faith and was a member of American Legion, Cecil Martin Post #250, Mitchell.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis June Goldsby, Bedford; two daughters, Debbie (Jim) George and Cindy (Dayrl) Sears- Misamore, both of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Rusty A (Kristin) Sears, Mitchell, Steven L. Sears, Danny George and Andrea (Brian) Voigtschild, all of Bedford, Carla (Eric) Johnson, Springville, Dayrl Misamore, Jr., North Dakota, Annie (Darrell) Thornton, Salem, and Lula Misamore, Campbellsburg; four great grandchildren, Jackie L. Sears, Alex Marie Lashlee, Chase A. Sears and Matthew A. Sears; two brothers, Joe (Sue Jane) Goldsby, Mitchell and Wayne (Carolyn) Goldsby, Spencer; and his beloved cat, Mitzi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Clyde Ritter; one sister, Marilyn Sears; and five brothers, Carl D. and Leslie F. Goldsby, James and Ronnie Ritter, and one brother in infancy; and his best friend, Buck Coulter.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Bro. Larry Dalton officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford. Friends may call from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service, at the funeral home. Military Rites will be accorded at the grave by members of American Legion, Cecil Martin Post # 250, Mitchell.

Naomi Maxine Geary – Mitchell
March 17-1928 – July 25, 2015
Naomi Maxine Geary, 87, of Mitchell, passed away at 4:24 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.
Born March 17, 1928, in Tipton, she was the daughter of Sean Ray and Gertrude (Spaulding) Austill. She married Charles Walter Geary in 1971, and he preceded her in death March 19, 1980. She had been employed in hospital food service and was a graduate of Tipton High School. Naomi was a member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include her children, Carl (Brenda) Clem, North Carolina, Fredrick L. Clem, Mitchell, Jeffery P. (Carol) Clem, Mitchell, P. Edward Geary, Mitchell, Jerry (Norma) Zearbaugh, Selma, Darlene M. (George) Shigley, Muncie, Brent W. (Carla) Geary, Florida, Brenda (Dana) Dunbar, Mitchell; 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren;14 great great grandchildren
Her parents; husband; children, Mary G. Box, Melody R. Henderson, and James K. Zearbaugh; and siblings, Edna Zearbaugh, Opal McComb, Virgil McComb, and Dallas Austill, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at the Mitchell Wesleyan Church with Reverend Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. Monday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center, and from 11 a.m. until the service on Tuesday at the church.

Thomas Jefferson Goen – Mitchell
Thomas Jefferson “Tom” Goen, 73, went home to be with the love of his life at 3 p.m. July 23, 2015 at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.
He married Kathleen E. Knowling Wilkerson on July 21, 1964. They had 44 years together before her passing on August 20, 2007. Tom was born in Jackson County to Cletus and Dorothy (Hunsucker) Goen. He graduated from Medora High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1962. He was a member of the Leesville Masonic Lodge No. 161 F&AM and Order of Eastern Star No. 422. Poppy retired from Cummins Engine with over 30 years of service.
Surviving: three granddaughters, caretaker, Ronnetta (Freddie) Hopper, Yolanda (Warren) Spicer, Tresa (Steve) Hamilton; great grandchildren, Audrey Wilkerson, Brandon Chastain, Matthew (Temple) Hopper; Miranda Hopper; Stewart, Isabella, Spencer Hamilton; great great grandchildren, Alexis and Carol; daughters-in-law, Kathy Wilkerson; Sue Ann Wilkerson; brothers, Paul Goen, Medora; Gary Goen, Florida; sister, Carol, Columbus; sisters-in-law, Mary Rose Goen, Bedford, Ruth Knowling, Wadesville many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and neighbors–thanks to all
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie F. Wilkerson in 2004; parents; two brothers; one sister; and two nephews.
As per his wishes, cremation was chosen with no services. Burial will be later in Talbott Cemetery next to Mam. Arrangements were entrusted to Haverly Funeral Chapel.
Poppy, I love and miss you so much already. But I know your heart is full again after seeing Mam. I’m sure there was rejoice at the pearly gates. Poppy was a wonderful giving man to all.
