Donald E. True – Bedford
Donald E. True, 90, of Bedford, died at 9:47 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his residence.
Born July 10, 1924 in Lawrenceport, IN, he was the son of Alvin and Ora B. (Baugh) True. He married Betty J. Mascio on December 20, 1947 and she survives. He retired in 1983 from the Holsum Bakery where he was a salesman for thirty-four years. He was a proud veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Thomas Jefferson. He participated in six major invasions during the war and was awarded the Legion of Merit for his involvement in the invasion of Sicily in 1943. He was a member of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Bedford; a daughter, Donna Hinshaw, of Bloomington; a grandson, Nathan Hinshaw, of Bloomington; two sisters, Wanda Rawnsley, of Plainfield, IN and Linda Kelley, of Ellettsville; a brother, Fred True, of Mitchell; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Carlton and Kenneth True.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Thursday, June 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 11 am until the hour of service on Thursday, June 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Virginia Sue Waggoner – Shoals
Virginia Sue Waggoner, 74, of Shoals, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospice in Vincennes on Saturday, May 29, 2015 at 9:44 p.m.
Born on April 17, 1941 in Loogootee, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Edith (Earl) Ragsdale. Sue graduated as Salutatorian from Shoals High School with the Class of 1959. She was previously employed by Essex Corporation in Orleans and then Dana Corporation in Mitchell, retiring due to declining health. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and was a fan of NASCAR.
She is survived by one son Gregory D and wife Tina Waggoner, of Indianapolis; one daughter Snelli and husband Michael Steiner, of Shoals; six grandchildren, Jenae Jones, Mackenzie Jones, Brittany Davis, Lauren Estes, Charli Steiner and Mindi Steiner and two great grandchildren, Kendall Bond and Cooper Price; one brother Steve Ragsdale, of Shoals.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Marie Hardwick and Kay Horsting and two brothers James Ragsdale and Carleton Ragsdale.
Gravesite rites will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery in Shoals.
