James R. Davis – Bedford
James R. Davis, 71, of Bedford, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
Born November 4, 1943 in Mitchell, IN, he was the son of Beverly and Muriel (Richason) Davis. He married Sheila Hatfield on October 21, 1983 and she survives. He was a graduate of Mitchell High School. He retired from General Motors on April 1, 1997 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and U.A.W. Local #440. He attended the Methodist Church.
Jim loved to be outdoors and in his welding shop. He enjoyed golf and being with friends and family. He was respected and loved by many. He was a loving wonderful husband, dad, grandpa and brother. He loved his family and had a heart of gold. Jim was a good friend to many. He is going to be sadly missed and will leave a broken heart to many left behind but the good Lord was ready to take him home.
Survivors include his wife, of thirty-one years, Sheila A. Davis; children, James Davis and companion, Jamie, of Bedford, Joey Davis and wife, Tammy, of Mitchell, Jeana Godsey and husband, Steve of Bedford, Carl Vincent and companion, Debbie, of Springville, Jeremy Vincent of Bedford, Brandon Vincent and wife, Dusty, of Mitchell; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Davis, Bob Davis and wife, Kathy, all of Bedford; two sisters, Beverley Staggs and husband, Danny, of Bedford and La Rue Seims of Washington, D.C.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Ronnie McLain officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter #2. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 5th and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday, March 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the White River Humane Society.

Marlyn E. “Marley” Mundy – Bedford
Marlyn E. “Marley” Mundy, 85, of Bedford, gained his heavenly wings at 4:13 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family and pastor.
Marley was born July 30, 1929 in Bedford, Indiana to Paul C. and Ethel M. (Andis) Mundy.
He married Marilyn Rose Pannell on June 16, 1950; and she survives.
Marley was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1948. He was a member of Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene. He worked for Kaiser Aluminum. His children and grandkids were his life in so many ways. He lived his life as a devoted servant of God, and it was evident to anyone who knew him. He will be missed here on earth but rejoicing is taking place in heaven.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Dixie (Darryl) Calloway, Bedford, and Deidra (Greg) Hill, of Greenwood; one son, Daniel Mundy, of Bedford; grandchildren, Brandon (Nikki) Deckard, Brad (Stacy) Mundy, Brooke Hoover, Whitney (Toby) Harrison, Stephanie (Jason) Johnson, Michelle Everly, Jenna (Tony) Epkey; great-grandchildren, Blayne, Brylee, and Brylen Harrison; Griffin and Anna Deckard; Matt, Gregory, and Joshua Hoover; Karissa and Garrett Mundy; Nick, Allie, and Olivia Johnson; Ashlyn, Jacob, Tyler, and Arianna Everly; and Chance and Chase Turner; step-grandchildren, Josh and Caitlyn Powell; and two step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Bushey officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
