Julie Maureen (Abel) Sluder – Mitchell
Julie Maureen (Abel) Sluder, 43, of Mitchell, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at IU Health Hospice House, Bloomington.
Born January 26, 1971 in Beech Grove, Indiana, she was the daughter of Gene and Kerri (Sinegar) Abel.
She married Kim Sluder, on December 19, 1999; and he survives.
She worked at Terry’s Catering and Banquet in Bloomington, and had previously worked at West Baden Hotel, and had managed Three Pigs Restaurant. She was a graduate of BNL, Class of 1989, and attended Ball State University. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption, of Mitchell. She was a member of South Central Indiana Geocachers. Her grandchildren were the biggest joys of her life.
Surviving are her husband, Kim, of Mitchell; her parents, Gene and Kerri Abel, of Bedford; one brother, Gregory Abel, of Mauldin, South Carolina; one sister, Stephanie Abel, of Ellettsville, IN; two nephews, Christopher and Corey Abel, of South Carolina; two step-daughters, Candace Schofield, of Bedford, and Robin (Ricky) Holmes, of Springville; three grandchildren, Jessie Schofield, Chelsey Schofield, and Tyler Holmes; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Sluder, of Bryantsville.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marshall and Mary Abel, and John and Eileen Sinegar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 24, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Sunday, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a scripture service at 6:30 p.m.

Robert Dale Lewis – Bedford
Robert Dale Lewis, 93, of Bedford, went to be with his Lord at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from his home of sixty-eight years. His wife was by his side.
Born February 5, 1921 in Bedford, he was the son of Arthur Samuel and Lula (Meadows) Lewis. He married Frances Garrison on July 21, 1946 and she survives. Bob was retired from General Motors in Bedford in 1981. He was a tool and die maker for thirty-four years. He served in WW II in the European Theatre attaining the rank of sergeant. Bob was a dedicated member of the First Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Frances, of Bedford; their children, Kevin Lewis and Darlene Parker and her husband, Dan; grandchildren, Brett Parker and wife, Lindsey, JoEllen Holland and husband, Sam, all of Bedford and Paul Parker and wife, Molli, of Beech Grove, IN; great grandchildren, Paul Hayden, Kolton Brock, Kasen Isaiah, Sammy Dale, Jay Robert, Mallory Frances, Paul Jackson and Alexandra Jo; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Juanita Henschen and Loretta Canada.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm on Saturday, November 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Mark Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, November 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
