Lois Jean Allen – Washington
Lois Jean Allen, former resident of Lawrence County, Indiana died with family by her side in Washington, Indiana, at the young age of 85.
Ms. Allen was born April, 17th 1929 to Charles and Naomi Peel. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles Jr., sisters, Melba, Mercedes, Maddie and three husbands; Jim Meadows, Harry Hudson, and William “Bill” Allen.
Survivors include: a brother, Edward Peel; sister, Vera Figg; beloved son Ronald Hudson and wife/caregiver Kit Hudson; step-son Paul Donahue and step-daughter Gay Horton; grandsons Jamie Hudson, Michael Paul Donahue and Steven Hudson; granddaughters Heather Hudson-Cook, Angie Lewis and Missy Horton; resulting in 17 great-grandchildren.
At her request, only a graveside service will be held.
Donations, in memory of Lois, are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

Jerry D. Covey – Bedford
Jerry Denver Covey, 69, 5410 Leatherwood Road, Bedford, passed away Saturday night at IU Health in Bedford.
Born March 12, 1945 in Bedford, he was the son of Betty M. (Greer) and Clinton Z. Covey. He was a 1964 graduate of Shawswick High School and just celebrated their 50th class reunion in May. He retired after 35 years as co-owner of Sigma Steel in Bedford, IN. He was an avid sportsman which he loved hunting big game such as bear, elk, caribou, and deer with a bow and arrow. He was a lifetime member of the White River Bowhunters Association. He also enjoyed bird and duck hunting with good friends. He loved spending time with his family and traveling to exotic locales. He married Nancy L. Reynolds on December 24, 1964. Next month would have marked their 50 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife Nancy; one daughter, Jerri Lynn Kurdziolek and husband John Michael; two grandsons, Cory Gerkin of New Albany, and Kyle Gerkin of Mitchell; one brother, Jim Covey of Williams; one sister, Joyce Belle Nelson and her husband Wayne of Sweetwater, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Octabelle and Curtis Jackson; one aunt, Joan Greer.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Linda M. Deckard – Bedford
Linda (Mammy) Deckard, 66, of Bedford, was called home on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 2:14 am. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 20, 1947 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Malcom Hilderbrand and Anna (Glassco) Hilderbrand. She married Eugene “Gene” Deckard and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2014. She was a surgery tech at IU Health.
Survivors include a son, Michael Joe Deckard and his wife Nancy, of Norman; a daughter, Becky (Deckard) Tumey and her husband Scott Tumey, of Bedford; two grandchildren, Tiffany Deckard of Orleans and Jeremy Tumey of Bedford; two great-grandchildren, Tyson Mclaughlin and Alicia McCart; two granddogs, Buddy Joe and Izzy Ann; a sister, Clara Huddleston of Norman; two brothers, Richard Hilderbrand of Norman and Mike Hilderbrand of Arkansas
She is preceded in death by her husband Gene; her mother and father; three sisters, Marilyn Sue Patton, Glenda Elnora Robinson, and Ethel Rose Hilderbrand; two brothers, Rodney Hilderbrand, and Malcom Hilderbrand Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Jan and Martie Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Monday, November 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Annalou C. McCune – Bedford
Annalou C. McCune, 83, of Bedford, passed away Friday 1:30pm at the IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born May 8, 1931 in Bedford, she was the daughter of James Paul Child and Margaret Fay (Anderson). She married George Frederick McCune on April 8, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1998. Annalou previously worked as the office manager at Bedford Machine Company, and later retired from Hospitality House as personnel director. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was also past President from 2000-2001 of the United Methodist Women. Annalou was also a member and past President of Tri Kappa from 1996-1997.
Survivors include one son, James F. McCune and his wife Cynthia of Schaumburg, IL; one daughter, Karen S. Roberts Hackler of Bedford; four grandchildren, Melissa Ziel, Andrew McCune, Samantha Hackler and Jennifer Hackler; one brother, Edward L. Child of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorial services will be conducted at 10 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Michelle White officiating. Following the memorial service, family and friends are invited for a remembrance luncheon at the church. A private burial will occur at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
