John William Payton – Mitchell
John William Payton, 50, of Mitchell, passed away Thursday morning, September 4, 2014, at his residence.
Born February 25, 1964, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, he was the son of Alvia W. and Julia Ann (Harris) Payton. He married Kelly Renee Sanders February 14, 1986.
He was employed in construction.
Surviving: wife, Kelly Payton, Mitchell; sons, John Calin (Cassie) Payton, Bedford, Ethan Joel Payton, Mitchell; grandchildren, Keatyn (Payton) McLaughlin, Karsyn (Payton) McLaughlin; siblings, Clarence (Claudia) Moore, Nevada, Carol (Rick) Preston, Jeffersonville, Fred Moore, Mitchell, Tony Moore, Orleans, Ralph Payton, Orleans, Elaine (Steve) Reed, Orleans, Gail (Will) Hodges, Mitchell; brother-in-law, Kipp Sanders, Mitchell; sister-in-law, Polly (Ronnie) Grubb, Mitchell; parents-in- law, Harold and Rondee Sanders, Mitchell
His parents; siblings, Linda Moore and Karl Payton; and nephew, Jonah Lee Grubb, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, September 8, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Jerry Richardson officiating. Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Payton Cemetery.Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.
