Larry G. Ayers, 74, of Mitchell, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at his residence.

Bill O’Neal, 76, of Bedford died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.

Iris L. Fry, 93, of Huron, passed away at 8:54 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Clarence Fish – Mitchell
Clarence Fish, 83, of Mitchell, died Sunday, August 24, 2014.
Born March 15, 1931 in Jackson Co., he was the son of Edgar and Bessie (Callahan) Fish. He married Barbara A. Allen on January 6, 1951 and she survives. He was the owner and salesman at Bedford Office Supply. He was a member of the Mitchell United Methodist Church, Rotary Club of Mitchell, High 12 Club in Seymour and a founding member of South Lawrence Water. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and past master of Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Mitchell; two sons, Keith Fish and wife, Lynn, of Mitchell, Kenny Fish and wife, Patricia, of Elizabeth, IN; two daughters, Dee Fish of Bedford and Jo McNeeley and husband, Jeff, of Georgia; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Carl Fish of Norman; a sister, Grace Sakala of Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark Fish (in infancy), four brothers, a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Bob Courson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Joyce Amy (Archer) Sons – Bedford
Joyce Amy (Archer) Sons, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Indiana University Hospice.
She was born July 31, 1924 in south Hampton, England To Ernest and Rose (Stickland) Archer, grand daughter of Titanic survivor Ernest and Lady Elizabeth (Spencer) Archer. Joyce married US Army Medica John W. Sons September 10, 1945 at South Hampton, England. She was a member of HMR King George VI Royal Home Guard, serving as Morse Code Operator. Joyce came to America as a war bride and spent her life as a homemaker in Lawrence County. She was a member of Bedford First Baptist Church, Beta Sigma Phi and Department Club.
Survivors include son Stephen (Jeaneen) Canada; sister-in-law Mary Archer, of England; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband, daughter Lisbeth (Sons) Smith; brother Ed Archer; sister Ann (Archer) Conway Cole, son-in-laws Odie Smith and Daniel McKinney, bother-in-laws Phillip Conway and George Cole.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 26 at Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford with Rev. Kregg Burris officiating and Soloist Jim Kirkman at the direction of Jones Funeral Home.
Patrick Scott Vestal – Springville
Patrick Scott Vestal, 48, of Springville, died at 10:42 am on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born March 20, 1966 in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of John L. Vestal, Jr. and Wilma Charleen (Ragsdale) Vestal. He married Nici Wright and she survives. He worked at White River Gravel.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nici, of Springville; his mother, Charleen Vestal; six sons, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Michael, Thomas, Parker and Ben; a brother, Stephen Vestal; three sisters, Dawn Brown, Andrea Hardin, Gina
Sullivan; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the mortuary to defray expenses.

Mary Katherine “Kay” Olson – Bedford
Mary Katherine “Kay” Olson, 92, of Bedford, died at 7 am on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born January 22, 1922 in LaPorte, IN, she was the daughter of Allen M. and Rhoda (Polley) Metzger. She married Emil R. “Sim” Olson on January 25, 1941 and he preceded her
in death on March 26, 2012. She was a homemaker and member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, Larry Olson and wife, Linda of Bedford; two daughters, Carol Olson of Elgin, IL and Karin Blinkilde and husband, Peter, of Greenville, MI; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, one sister and one half-brother.
Cremation was chosen. No visitation and services are planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Helen Marie Rager – Bedford
Helen Marie Rager, 84, of Bedford, passed away at 3:37 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2014, at her residence.
Born April 15, 1930, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Hayden and Muriel (Clouse) Brewer. She married Robert “Bob” Rager April 15, 1968, and he preceded her in death October 7, 2009. Helen was a beautician and a member of the Work of God and the Bedford Organ Club.
Survivors include her children, Roger Rager, Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Carol (Carl) Johnson, Bedford, Jackie (Neal) Stillman, Mitchell, John (Valerie) Heise, Kimberling City, Missouri; grandchildren, Randy (Abby) Rager, Ginger (Pat) Kirschbaum, Wendy (Kevin) Derhaag, Justin (Jenny) Mann, Mandi (Henry) Dersch, Kenzi (Tyler) Arthur, Brooke Heise; 15 great grandchildren; lifelong friends, Viola Warriner and Inez McDonald.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Cremation will follow.

Helen D. Reynolds – Bedford
Helen D. Reynolds, 86, passed from this life Sunday, August 24, 2014.
She was born June 6, 1928, in Bedford. She was a graduate of Oolitic High School, married Calloway Reynolds February 12, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1968.
She is survived and dearly loved by her children, Rita, Ronnie, and Sue Ellen; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, and three brothers, Richard (Brenda), Frank and Charles Poore.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mildred Byers, two brothers, and an infant son.
Private graveside rites are planned.

Freddy Dale Dawson – Bedford
Freddy Dale Dawson age 68 of Bedford passed away on Saturday August 23, 2014 at White River Lodge in Bedford.
He was born in Lawrence County on August 4, 1946 to Arthur Max Dawson and Ilene (Moore) Dawson. He was a graduate of Oolitic High School and was a construction worker.
He is survived by several cousins
He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandparents, Ben and Maimie Moore.
Friends may call from Noon until service time at 1 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 27, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home, internment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Ron G. Pace – Bedford
Ron G. Pace age 66 of Bedford, formerly of Lafayette, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday August 24, 2014.
He was the son of Lola Faye Carter and Chester Pace, Jr. He was born in Lawrence County
on May 16, 1948; he was a graduate of Needmore High School in 1966. He worked and retired from Eli Lilly and company from 1973-1998, after retiring he worked at a printing company and also for a lawn care company in Lafayette. He enjoyed golfing and collecting Coke items. Dad was always a Purdue fan living in Lafayette for so many years, but living in Lawrence County a few years quickly changed his mind to becoming an IU fan, that was his best bet if he wanted to keep peace with the family.
Surviving are one daughter; Melissa (Greg) Shaw, two sisters; Linda (Robert) Robinson and Denise (Larry) Terrell, Step-daughters; Misty (Samer) Samman and Jennifer (Rich) Prange, Step-son; Ronnie Corcoran, Grandchildren; Mariah Mills, Cailey Mills, Jordan Samman, and Maddie Prange, two aunts, Rosalie Hammond and Cathleen (Conrad) Nelson, uncle, Dale (Brenda) Cheek.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Chester Pace, Jr. and his mother Lola Faye Carter, and his wife Donna (Brown) Pace in 1999
Cremation with no services was chosen, a celebration of life will be held at a later date
