William A. Davis, Jr. – Bedford
William A. Davis, Jr., 73, of Bedford, died at 9:11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his residence.
Born June 25, 1941 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of William A. and Moneva I. (Hillenburg) Davis. He married Nancy Fox on December 23, 1966 and she survives. He retired from Otis Elevator after sixteen years.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of Bedford; three sons, Allen Davis and wife, Sandy of Bloomington, Jason Davis and wife, Sheryl of Louisiana and Bob Davis and wife, Amy of Bedford; a daughter, Dianna Hardwick of Bedford; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Glasgow of Springville and Joyce Collins of Bedford; three brothers, Dennis Davis, Sr. of East Oolitic, Claude and Phillip Davis both of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Arleen Thompson; a brother, Robert Davis, Sr. and a granddaughter, Tristyn Hardwick.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 17th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family requests contributions be made to the Davis family to defray funeral expenses.

Alice Christine Gratzer – Tuscumbia, AL.
Alice Christine Gratzer, 94, of Tuscumbia, AL, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, died on August 10, 2014 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center in Florence, AL.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; three brothers and her husband of forty-eight years, Earl Richard Gratzer.
A private graveside service was held on August 14th at Beech Grove Cemetery in Bedford officiated by Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
William “Bill” Busch – Bedford
William “Bill” Busch, 76, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday August 10, 2014 at 7:20 a.m. at Garden Villa in Bedford.
He was born in Greensburg, Indiana to Jack & Viola (Baldwin) Busch on December 11, 1937. Bill married Rosalie (Corey) Root in 1991 and she survives. Bill was a retired Truck Driver and an US Army veteran, serving with the Special Forces, and was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #33, Oolitic Patriot Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Busch, of Bedford; one daughter Patricia Ann (Busch) Mabrey and husband Matt, of Springville; one step-daughter Becky (Art) Miller of Heltonville; two step-sons Tim (Vonda) Root, of Mitchell, and Charlie (Robin) Root, of Bedford; one brother, Mike (Rita) Busch, of Bedford; 16 G=grandchildren, Marc Harrison Busch, Ty York, Jerrod Langley, Ashley Hutchens, Meagan Mabrey, Emilee Mabrey, Elijah Langley, Kristen Arthur O’Brien, Brandon Seth Miller, Maxwell Luke Miller, Amber Burgess, Josh Root, Kristney Coomer, Coreylyn Christan,
Kelby Root, Rodney Root, and Timmy Devin Root; 22 great grandchildren and his beloved dog Precious No-No.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Susan May Busch; two brothers Tommy Busch and Jerry Busch and one sister Ruth Ann Ravencroft; step-mother,Mable Busch, his beloved dog, Fibber McGee.
Cremation was chosen, a celebration of Bill’s life will be at a later date

Shirley Yaney – Bedford
Shirley Yaney, 79, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at her residence.
Born May 12, 1935 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Oscar Allen and Maggie Mae Grogan. She married Joseph
Robert Yaney on October 14, 1950 and he preceded her in death. She retired as a nurses’ assistant for Westview
Manor and Bedford Nursing Home. She was a member of the Judah Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her grandkids. Her hobbies were western movies, crossword puzzles, computer games and collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.
Survivors include a son, Rick Yaney and wife, Inez, of Bedford; three daughters, Gaye Conner of Springville, Sherry McIntosh and husband, Doug, of Bedford, Lela O’Bannon and husband, John, of Owensburg; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Luella Jones and Zelma Cole both of Mitchell; four brothers, David, Millard and Marvin Grogan all of Bedford, Jack Grogan of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Bobby Lee; four sisters, Penny Grogan, Sue McDaniels, Eva Oliver and Amilda Faye Lessig.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 16th in the Judah Church of Christ with Pastor Larry Ritter officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 11a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, August 16th at the Judah Church of Christ.

Lola Faye Carter – Bedford
Lola Faye Carter, 85, of Bedford, daughter of Roy and Winnie Cheek, born on April 7, 1929 in a home birth as a twin to Nola Mae.
She passed away peacefully at Westview Nursing Home on the morning of August 13, 2014.
Surviving are three children, Ron Pace, Linda Robinson (Robert) and Denise Terrell (Larry); grandchildren, Mindy Mosier (Kevin), Missy Shaw (Greg), Cara Keithley (Landon), Dylan Terrell, Misty Samman (Samer), Jennifer Prange (Rich), Ronnie Corcoran; great grandchildren, Mariah Mills, Brett Mosier (Brianne), Whitney Mosier, Cailey Mills, Jordan Samman, Maddie Prange, Emmalyn Keithley; two sisters, Rosalie Hammond Cathleen Nelson (Conrad); a brother, Dale Cheek (Brenda); two sisters-in-law, Diane Cheek and Sue Cheek; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Effie Grace and her twin, Nola Mae Ingle, two brothers, Raymond and Frank Cheek.
She was a former employee of Bedford Medical Center and a homemaker. Faye was gentle, kindhearted, sweet and loving to her family friends and acquaintances. She loved to play euchre and had a joyful sense of humor. When you think of her you can’t help but to smile. She made a huge impact on all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Saturday, August 16th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, August 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

M. Farrell Robbins – Bedford
M. Farrell Robbins, 92, of Bedford, died at 2:19 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at I.U. Health, Bedford.
Born May 7, 1922, in Oolitic, IN, he was the son of Clint and Nellie (May) Robbins.
He married Beulah Haverly on June 21, 1947; she died June 11, 2005.
He was a graduate of Needmore High School with the class of 1941; was on the Bedford Police Dept. 21 years, retiring in 1969; and was Lawrence Co. Sheriff from 1975-1978. He was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church, Mitchell. He was also a Veteran of WW-2, Naval Reserve, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Farrell’s ship was sank off the coast of Normandy on D-Day. He was a member of American Legion, Gillen Post #33, Bedford; a 50-Year member of Bedford Masonic Lodge #14, F&AM; and a life member of the Sheriff’s Association and F.O.P Stone City Lodge #94.
Surviving are one son, Michael F. (Patty) Robbins, Bedford; one grandson, Michael Zackary “Zack” (Jordan) Robbins, Bedford; one granddaughter, Marcy Katherine Robbins, Indianapolis; and three great grandsons, Quincy, Colt and Beau.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Terri Lynn Robbins; and one sister, Lee Etta New.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Pastor Glen Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded at the grave by members of the American Legion, Gillen Post #33, Bedford. Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service, at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will be held at 6 p.m. Friday.
