William R. Green – Bedford
William R. Green, 93, of Bedford, formerly of Durham, NC, died at 8:34 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital.
Born May 24, 1920 in Gary, IN, he was the son of Robert and Erma (Bush) Green. He married Dorothy Kurczewski and she preceded him in death. He later married Florence Kaye and she also preceded him in death. He retired as a supervisor for U.S. Steel Gary Works. After retirement, he moved to Durham, NC in May 1977 and then moved to Bedford, IN in December
2011.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Green Koby; a son, William J. Green and wife Susan; grandsons, Richard Green and wife Valerie and Christopher Green and wife Amanda; a granddaughter, Victoria Waldron and husband Robert; great grandchildren, Gavin Green, Nick Green and wife Stephanie, Logan Green and wife Chelsea, Alyssa Zapinski, Ashley Waldron, Olivia Waldron, Evelyn Waldron and Landon Waldron; a great great grandson, Tanner Green; step-grandsons, Ryan and Patrick Kelly; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives; brothers, Robert and James Green; sisters, LaVerne Kellogg, Elizabeth Gill and Helen C. Green.
No services are planned. Cremation was chosen. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Alice B. Armstrong – Springville
Alice B. Armstrong, 82, of Springville, died at 12:47 pm on Friday, August 24th at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital. Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Bernadine Hunter – Bedford
Bernadine Hunter, 87, of Bedford, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the IU Health Hospital.
Born on November 9, 1925 she was the daughter of Daisy and Logan Mitchner. Brenadine graduated from Clearspring High School in 1944. She married Robert Hunter on April 12, 1945 and he survives. She was a member of Mundell Christian Church. She worked at Indiana Limestone Company for several years in the drafting department. She also worked at the Naval Weapons Support Center at Crane.
Survivors include her husband Robert, of Bedford; three children, Debora Bateman and husband Jim, of Loogootee, Tammi Hooten and husband Stephen, of Bedford, Jon Hunter, of Bedford; grandchildren, Scott Taylor of Bloomington, Brian Taylor and wife Jessica, of Warsaw, Lisa Taylor and partner Leia Fanell, of Bloomington, Kevin Hooten, Kyle Hooten, Klint Hooten and Katelyn Hooten, all of Bedford, Jessica Hunter, of Illinois, Joni Jacobo and husband Harrison, of Vincennes and Jeni Hunter, of Bedford; nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Russell Mitchner and wife Edith, brother Ralph Mitchner and wife Jane.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with John Wisley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mundell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Larry Joe Roberts -Springville
Larry Joe Roberts, 73, of Springville, died at 5:04 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013, in Inglis, FL.
Born November 2, 1939 in Bedford, he was the son of Thomas Roberts and Laura (Phillips) Roberts. He married Patricia Wray on September 15, 1962, and she survives.
He was a laborer for Cummins Engines, Columbus, IN, retiring in 1994. He was graduate of Bedford High School with the class of 1959 and a member of New Life Trinity Holiness Tabernacle, Bedford.
Surviving are his wife, Patty Roberts, Springville; three sons, Todd Roberts and wife Kris Roberts, Greenwood, Jeff Roberts and wife Debbie, Dayton, OH and Darren Roberts, Indianapolis; one daughter, Stacey Terry and husband Mike, Bedford; nine grandchildren, Jake, Katie, Karlie, Jonathan, Leah, Nathan, Alaina and husband Aaron, Braden and Chase; one great granddaughter, Sophia; and his dog, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd, Donald and Charles Roberts and one sister, Mildred, all in infancy and in later years four brothers, Glen, Carl, Dean and Harold Roberts and two sisters, Francis Flinn and Mary Pipher.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2013, at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Bedford, with Pastors Mark Brock, Keith Thompson and Benny Sutherland officiating. Burial will be in Lowder Cemetery, Springville. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
