Melody Joy Prow – Bedford
Melody Joy Prow, age 38 of Bedford passed away at her residence on August 15, 2013.
She was born in Bedford to Robert Prow and Faith (Edinger) Spicer on November 11, 1974. Melody was a graduate of Mitchell High School Class of 1993 and Indiana Cosmetology Academy in 1993, she worked in Hair Salon’s in Lawrence and Monroe Counties, and she was a gifted Hair Stylist. Melody was a bold Cancer survivor for 9 years, she was known for her big heart and her ability to listen to people without judging them. Melody’s proudest achievement and greatest passion were her daughter and son, she always felt so blessed to have them.
Survivors include her daughter Ravyn ” Pettie” Elisabeth Lee of Bedford, her son Raymond Foster Lee of Bedford; her mother and step-father; Faith and Ray Spicer of Bedford; her father; Robert Prow of Bedford; her brother Nick Benson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, her maternal grandparents; Robert and Marie Edinger of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Paul and Nellie Prow and her Great grandparents
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Cresthaven Memory Gardens, burial will follow Bro. John Lund officiating.
Melody will be deeply missed by her family & friends, but she will never be forgotten.

Freda Scheibe – Mitchell
Freda Scheibe, 70, passed away at 1:08 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 6, 1943, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Fred Schmitt and Manilla (Tatlock) Maudlin. Freda retired from General Electric and was a former member of the First Christian Church and Phi Beta Psi Sorority.
Survivors include her children, Victoria K. Scheibe, Roanoke, Virginia, Payot O. Scheibe III, Mitchell, Melinda Elizabeth Speer, Bedford, Julie Dawn Kidd, Oolitic; mother, Manilla Maudlin, Clarksville; grandchildren, Alex and Adryanna Speer, Treyton Phillips; brother, David Maudlin, Florida; half sister, Janie Schmitt, Salem
Her father preceded her in death.
Graveside service will be in Mitchell Cemetery at a later date.

Maynard Bowling – Brownstown
Maynard Bowling, 73, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born March 26, 1940, in Clay County, Kentucky, he was the son of Delbert and Susan Alice (Ledford) Bowling. He married Doris Jean Bishop August 28, 1967. He had been employed at Buck Lemon Furniture Store and was a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Brownstown.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Bowling, Brownstown; children, Debbie Cole, Salem, Vicky VanArsdale, Indianapolis, Karen Mangum, Greeenwood, Tammy Maudlin, Campbellsburg, Eugene Bowling, Salem, Michael Allen Bowling, Mitchell, Michael Duane Bowling, Mitchell, Cathy Fisher, Chrisney, Lori Rodriguez, Seymour; siblings, Leroy Bowling, Orleans, Wayne Bowling, Salem, Clifton Bowling, Edinburgh, Geneva Brown, Salem; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren
His parents; daughter, Norma Bowling; brother, Darrell Bowling; two grandsons and a great granddaughter, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center Rev. Steve Muster officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
