Jack H. Bridwell – Bedford
Jack H. Bridwell age 85 of Bedford, passed away on Monday July 29, 2013 at Westview Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation.
He was born in Lawrence County on august 27, 1927 to Clara (Goodman) Bridwell.
Jack attended Bedford High School and he retired from RCA in Bloomington. Jack was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford, Jack had a love of magic and started performing magic at age 11 and continued throughout his life, performing his last show in August of 2012, many people knew him as “Jack the Top Hat Magician, he was awarded the Magician of the Year in 1983 by the Society of American Magicians, he also was featured many times in magic publications for his magic, he also belonged to the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Jack first married; Jeanette Roop Bridwell and she preceded him in death in 1976, he then married Frances Goins and she preceded him in death on April 15, 1990, he then married Dorothy Jeanette (Trueblood) Acton in 1995 and she survives
Survivors include his wife; Jeanette Bridwell of Bedford; step- children, Diane Acton of Bedford, Steve Acton and wife Nancy of Springville, Leann and husband Michael Acton-Anderson of Springville, Jimmie and wife Jan Hedrick Goins of Bedford, Darlene and husband Les Lewis of Springville, Sheila Goins McDowell of Bedford, Sondra and husband Brent Harbstreit of Cypress, Texas; one nephew; Jimmy Pauch; one niece; Carolyn Sue Johnson of Bargersville; 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren
Jack was preceded in death by his mother; his first wife Jeanette Roop Bridwell; his second wife Frances Goins Bridwell; ons siser Clara Frances Pauch; one brother Edwin Max Bridwell; one step-son Donnie Goins.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home. with Rev Kregg Burris presiding. Friends may call on Saturday from Noon until service time at 3 p.m., burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford with military rites by Bedford American Legion Post #33.
Pall Bearers; Joe and Logan Penwell, Rexton Ward, Michael Anderson, Gordy Hunt and Travis Bailey. Honorary Pall Bearers will be; Heather Hudson Cook, Alexis Harbstreit, Miriam Lewis, Megan Lewis, Marie Lewis, Anon Goins, and Stacey Gilmore.
