Jennifer Norman – Bedford
Jennifer Norman, 62, of Bedford, passed away at 5:45 am today at Garden Villa in Bedford. Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Charles L. Cummings – Bedford
Charles L. Cummings, 88, of Bedford, passed away at 5:57 am today at I.U. Health Bedford Hospital. Arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Zelbert B. (Zeb) Hawkins – Bedford
Zelbert B. (Zeb) Hawkins, 83, of Bedford, passed away at 6:55am on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the IU Health Hospice House.
Born April 28, 1930 in Lawrence County he was the son of Zelbert B. and Helen (Dalton) Hawkins. He married Gloria G. Reuter on March 8, 1950 and she survives. He served as Lawrence County Deputy Sheriff in the fifties, Lawrence County Assessor in the sixties then was an insurance agent for Farm Bureau for nineteen years retiring in 1990. He was a very active member and elder of the Dive Christian Church, an associate member of Stone City Lodge FOP #94, a former member of the Bedford Exchange Club, and WBCCI Airstream.
Survivors include his wife Gloria of Bedford; three children: Jerry Hawkins of Bedford, Debbie Maze and her husband Jon of Bedford, and Randy Hawkins and his wife Emily of Bedford; six grandchildren: Missy Brown and her husband Stacey of Bedford, Mindy Bugh of Oolitic, Justin Pogue and his wife Michelle of Newburgh, Marci Bennett and her husband Bryce of Bedford, Heath Hawkins of Louisville, KY and Sarah Peters and her husband Curt of Vallonia; seven great grandchildren: Jordan Snow, Taylor Brown, Clayton Brown, Dalton Brown, Brynlea Bennett, Kaedyn Bennett, and Ella Pogue; two sisters: Lois Hardwick and her husband Robert of Bloomington, and Joanna Williams and her husband Kenneth of Williams; one brother-in-law: Doug Kidwell of Brownstown, one sister-in-law: Carolyn Hawkins of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter-in-law: Debbie Ann Hawkins, two brothers: George Hawkins and his wife Betty, and Mike Hawkins; one sister: Mary Kidwell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 15th at the Dive Christian Church with Johnny Johnson and Matt Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in the Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14th from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Day & Carter Mortuary, and from 1 pm until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Dive Christian Church.
Pallbearers are: Justin Pogue, Heath Hawkins, Jordan Snow, Taylor, Clayton and Dalton Brown. Honorary pallbearers are: Dive Christian Church elders and deacons.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Dive Christian Church Preschool or the church building fund.

Betty L. Woodward – Ellettsville
Betty L. Woodward, 87, of Ellettsville, formerly of Bedford, passed away at 1:10 am on Saturday, May 11 2013 at Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center.
Born November 3, 1925 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Walter and Pauline (Lambrecht) Woodward. She retired as vice-president for the Bedford Misc. Iron & Steel Co. where she had been employed for 25 years. She was the owner of the Westwind Hallmark House Gift Shop for 6 years. She was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include two brothers, James H. Woodward of Germantown, OH and Ray E. Woodward of Bloomington; one niece, Vicki Woodward of Bloomington; four nephews, Rev. Tim Woodward of Germantown OH, Dan Woodward of Bedford, David Woodward of Murango, OH and Curt Woodward of Hudson, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 14th at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Rev. Tim Woodward officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 10 am until 11:30 am on Tuesday, May 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
