The following obituaries were received for Tuesday.


George “Corky” James Jr. – Mitchell
George “Corky” James, Jr., 87, of Mitchell passed away at 7:20 a.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born November 17, 1925, in Mitchell, he was the son of George Clark and Violet (Fiddler) James, Sr. He married Dorothy Jane Rogers December 31, 1945. He retired from Mitchell Community Schools as head of the maintenance department and served on the Mitchell Fire Department for 25 years, as a member and fire chief. Corky received a Key to the City of Mitchell. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1944 and was a life member of the Mitchell Presbyterian Church. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post No. 250.
Survivors include his wife, Dot James, Mitchell; daughters, Rebecca Ann and husband Richard McCloud, Bloomfield, Mary Violet and husband Mark Gee, North East, Pennsylvania; son, George Clark James III and wife Brenda, Mitchell; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren
Corky was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Martha, and his parents.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, at the Mitchell Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sara Shields officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Friends may call from 4pm to 8 pm Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center, and from 9:30 a.m. until the service on Friday at the church.
Memorial Gifts: American Cancer Society in honor of his granddaughters, Angela Holtsclaw and Andrea Mize, or the Mitchell Presbyterian Church.

Marlina J. Lundy – Bedford

Marlina J. Lundy age 51 of Bedford, passed away on Saturday April 13, 2013 at IU Health in Bedford at 5:50 am.
She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 9, 1961 to Marlin & Opal M. (Chapel) Williams, Marlina married William “Bill” Lundy on March 31, 1990 in Bedford and he survives. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband; Bill Lundy of Bedford, one daughter; Marybeth O. and husband Timothy R. Caudill, of Bedford, sister and brother -in-law Rhonda and Marty George, of Bedford, one brother, nieces and nephews, Brandon L. and Jessica Lundy, Christopher D. Lundy, Kaden Lundy, Braden Lundy, Hayden Lundy, Shaidyn Lundy and Jayda Lundy
Marlina was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2013 from 4 pm until 8 pm at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford
