The following obituaries were received for Tuesday –


David L. Jerrells – Springville
David L. Jerrells, 71, of Springville, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at IU Health Hospital.
Born June 6, 1941 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Orville and Pauline (Cassidy) Jerrells. He married Mary F. Fields in 1966 and she survives. He has worked at Indiana University as a custodian retiring in 1976. David was a member of the Greene County Apostolic Church and enjoyed NASCAR races.
Survivors include his wife Mary, of Springville; one son Brian Jerrells; two daughters, Brenda Lee and Belinda Ann Jerrells, all of Springville and one brother Charles Jerrells, of Shoals.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Donnie Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.

James Leslie Jones – Orleans

James Leslie Jones, 58, passed away at 1 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2012, at his home.
Born February 11, 1954, in Lawrence County, he was the son of John Paul and Edith M.
(Patton) Jones. He married Shirley Ann Baxter January 2, 1973. He retired from Midland Cut Stone in Bloomington and was a member of Grace Tabernacle. James was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jones, Orleans; son, Eric James Jones, Orleans; mother, Edith Jones, Orleans; brothers, Ronnie Paul Jones, California, Randall Arthur Jones, Orleans, Daniel Dale Jones, Bloomington; sisters, Brenda Joyce Heath, California,
Judith Leah Birch, Arizona, Rachel Staggs, Mitchell, Penny Hardin, Florida, Connie Coulter, Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael Ray Jones.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 7, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Daniel Jones officiating. Burial
will be in Clark Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Robert Joseph Zile – Mitchell

Robert Joseph Zile, 47, of Mitchell, passed away at 5 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012, at his home.
Born September 13, 1964, in Dayton, Kentucky, he was the son of Robert Leland Zile
and Norma Lillian (Spencer) Zile. He married Irene Jeannette Stockton April 5, 1997 and she survives.
He was an electrical engineer at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane. Bob graduated
from Holmes High School in 1982. He earned bachelor’s degrees from Northern
Kentucky University and University of Kentucky. He was a member of Tulip Street Christian Church. He volunteered at St. Vincent dePaul School as a tutor, Cub Scouts as a den leader, and with Bryantsville Hunger Relief Project, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed wood working, and was a T’ai chi ch’uan Sifu, and Ham Radio Operator.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Jeannette Stockton, Mitchell; children, Annabelle, Alexander, and Ruby, all at home, brother, Daryl Wright, Elsmere, Kentucky; sister, Roberta (Brad) Cobb, Cedar Park, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Yvonne Collins.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 6, in the Memorial Chapel of
Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Greg McBride and Father Rick
Eldred officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
