The following obituaries were received for Friday –


Winnie F. Kirkman – Plainfield
Winnie F. Kirkman, 87, of Plainfield, passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Plainfield Health Care Center.
Born January 12, 1925 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Thomas Fount and Mary Emma (Hardwick) Strunk. She married Wayne Turpin and he preceded her in death. She later married Richard Vansant and he also preceded her in death. She then married Clarence Lester Kirkman and he survives. She retired from RCA, NWSC Crane and custodial service at the Mooresville High School. She was a member of Free Methodist Church of Mooresville.
Survivors include her husband Clarence, of Plainfield; two sons Robert Turpin and wife Pam, of Cloverdale and Danny Lee Turpin and wife Loretta, of Plainfield; one daughter Debra Sue Burnside, of Mooresville; grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; four brothers, Luther, Bud, Leonard and Orville Strunk; five sisters, Betty Baugh, Clara Turpin, Bessie Marie Strunk in infancy, Nancy Stout and Anna Conner.
Funeral service will be at 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 6th and from 12 p.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
