The following obituaries were received for Friday –


Dennis L. Probasco – Shoals
Dennis L. Probasco, 63, of Shoals, passed away on June 27, 2012 at 11:55 p.m. at the Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.
He was born on August 7, 1948 in Shoals to Luther M. and Margaret E. (Butler) Probasco. He married Shirley Hampton in Shoals.
Survivors include two daughters, LeaAnn Spencer, of Newburgh, Shelly Probasco, of Dubois; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; siblings Loretta Jent, of Oolitic, Arthur Probasco, of Shoals, David and Debbie Probasco, of Shoals, Marilyn Mills, of French Lick and Wanda Probasco and Gene Merchand, of Dubois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Violet Way.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m. at the Queen-lee Funeral Home in Shoals. Burial will be in the Butler Cemetery.

Jeff S. Scherschel – Bedford

Jeff S. Scherschel, 46, of Bedford, passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
Born December 8, 1965 in Bedford, he was the son of Phil C. and Sara C. (Towns) Scherschel. He was a mechanical engineer with NWSC Crane. He was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School with the class of 1989. He was a member of the Purdue Alumni Association.
Survivors include his parents, Phil and Sara; Armie Scherschel, mother of his children, Jakab T. Scherschel, Tyler C. Scherschel, Harleyquin F. Scherschel and Zoee A. Scherschel, all of Bedford; his first grandchild, Gynnyr Ray Blackwell, the son of Harley Scherschel and Garrett Blackwell, who is expected in August; his companion, Patty Gilliatt, of Bedford; two sisters, Vonda Stevens and husband Ken, Andrea Hardwick and husband Jerry, of Bedford; one brother, Eric Scherschel and wife Wendy, of Bedford; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1p.m. Monday, July 2nd at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Pastor Jeff Nikirk officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 1st at Day & Carter Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Crane Federal Credit Union where an account will be established for the Scherschel children.
