The following obituaries were received for Wednesday –


Nora M. Jenkins – Bedford
Nora M. Jenkins, 89, of Bedford, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Garden Villa.
Born July 27, 1922 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of W. Fred and Gladys (Swango) Wilson. She married Art Jenkins on February 21, 1942 and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1922. She retired as a clerk for the F.W. Woolworth Store where she was in charge of the pet department. She later worked for Ed’s Ghost Town. Her husband, Art was well known for his show horses and he and Nora were active in shows and parades. Many of their costumes were made by Nora. She was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church and AARP where she had been a former president for over 12 years. Nora was an animal lover and was one of the original founders of the White River Humane Society.
Survivors include one son, Marvin Jenkins, of Underwood; one grandson, Jeff Jenkins, of Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13th in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
