George E. “Bud” Barrett – Bedford
George E. “Bud” Barrett, 77, of Bedford, passed away at 2:53 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his home.
Born May 13, 1934 in Orleans, he was the son of Everett and Edith (Giles) Barrett. He married Sally Moat on December 1, 1956 and she preceded him in death. He was a retired utility worker and retired from Carpenter Body Works after 41 years. He was of the Methodist faith and loved auto racing and watching his grandchildren participate in sports.
Survivors include one son, Edward Barrett and his wife, Kimberly, of Bedford; two daughters, Cheryl Sanders and husband Kenny, of Mitchell, Diane Stevens and husband, Joe, of Bedford; four sisters, Norma Radcliff, Ruth King and husband Ron, Kathy Condra and husband Joe, all of Paoli, Brenda Allbright and husband Jerry, of French Lick; four grandchildren, Kasey Barrett Jackson, Logan Barrett, Lane Barrett and Dustin Dyer; four step-grandchildren, Evan and Morgan Sanders, Melissa Hilkey and Jeremy Stevens; three great grandchildren, Alexander, Jovi and Olivia Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother-in-law Raymond Radcliff.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kenny Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Orange County. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 31st at Day & Carter Mortuary.
