Lou Sanders – Kentucky
Lou Sander 73, of Grand Rivers, Kentucky, formerly of Shoals passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 p.m. at the Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Lou was born on August 16, 1938 in Martin County, Indiana to Ira Reid and Cleda Evelyn (Jones) Lundy.
She married Kenneth Sanders In 1960 in Detroit, Michigan and he preceded her in death in 1973. She worked as a waitress at the Blue Room in Shoals and Travelers Corp. in Orleans. She was also a switchboard operator for Michigan Bell.
Survivors include her daughter, Penny and husband Ken Joiner, of Grand Rivers, KY.; two sons, Greg and wife Misty Sanders, of Trinity springs, Kirk and wife Kayla Sanders, of Shoals; two step-sons, Duane and wife Lisa Sanders of Westland, Michigan, Keith and wife Linda Sanders, of Dexter, Michigan; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Irvin Lundy, of Greenwood, and Spencer Lundy, of Loogootee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the hours of service. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.

Marilyn Smith – Bedford
Marilyn Smith, 78, of Bedford, passed away at 6:06 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born December 1, 1993 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Mabel (Meadows) Sowders. She married Paul E. Smith on August 8, 1951 and he preceded her in death after fifty-four years of marriage. She later married Lester Todd and he also preceded her in death. She later married Lester Todd and he also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and caregiver. She loved playing bingo at Mr. Gatti’s listening to music at Skyhaven Entertainment and visiting her hairdresser, Jean at Tigress Lair.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula East and husband, Joe, of Bedord; grandchildren, Valerie Arthur and husband, Jeff, Jody east and wife, Jennifer, Cody East and wife Sara, Charity Nolan and husband, Jeremy, all of Bedford; eleven great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Jerrad, Levi, Jobe, Jaden, Alex, Jess, Carter, Garrett, Halley and Max; four sisters, Betty Martin, Phyllis Prince, Deloris “Dee” Axsom and Gloria Sue Harper, all of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Gerald Flynn officiating. Burial will follow in Bartlettsville Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20th and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, March 21st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to Leona Jones for a kidney transplant.

John L. Roell – Bedford

John L. Roell, 57, of Bedford, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012.
Born August 22, 1954 in Bedford, he was the son of John W. and Christina L. (Robinson) Roell. He was a retired electronics technician with the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his mother, Christina, of Bedford; brother, David Roell and his wife Jolene, of Mt Pleasant, SC; a niece, Dana Marie Roell, of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Private services will be scheduled at a later date with Rev. Reed Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled. Arrangements are under the directions of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Leslie Yvonne Chambers – Fayetteville
Leslie Yvonne Chambers, 52, of Fayetteville, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012, at her home.
Born August 19, 1959, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Leslie and Margaret (Taylor) Knight. She married Kevin Chambers June 6, 2002.
She was employed at Bedford and Seymour Housing Authority and also General Electric. Leslie graduated from Mitchell High School in 1978 and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Chambers, of Fayetteville; sons, Jerold Leatherman and companion Jennifer Eubanks, of Mitchell, Christopher Leatherman, of Mitchell, stepchildren, Veronica Hansen, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nicholas Hartshorn, of Pennsylvania; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Gayle and husband Randy Terrell, of Mitchell, Eva Knight, of Mitchell, sisters-in-law, Terri and husband Rick Pulliam, of Evansville, Cathy and husband Joe Lindenschmidt, of Lynnville, Monica Chambers, of Indianapolis; special uncles, J. C. and Fred Knight, of Mitchell
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Terri Knight.

Martha I. Ritter – Bedford

Martha I. Ritter, 90, of Bedford passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Garden Villa in Bedford.
Born March 13, 1922, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Fred and Ethyl (Owen) LuAllen. She married Ervin “Bud” Ritter on Dec. 3, 1945, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1974.
She was a member of Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene. Martha retired from the North Lawrence School System where she worked as a cook.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Ritter and wife Janet and Gary Ritter and wife Anita, all of Bedford; four grandchildren, Trina Hanner and husband Doug of Kurtz, Stacy Robison of Lutz, Fla., Matthew Ritter and wife Andrea of Bedford and Heather Moore and husband Matthew of Bridgeport, Ill.; and eight great-grandchildren, Abby Hanner, Emmitt Hanner, Chandler Robison, Owen Robison, Madelyn Ritter, Braden Ritter, Tayler Moore and Isaiah Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Mae Bartlett, Chloe Covey, Mary Turner (her twin); and a brother, George LuAllen.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Valley Mission Church with Pastors Duane Boady, Matthew Moore and Doug Hanner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Christian Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Valley Mission Church.
