The following obituaries were received for Tuesday –


Stephen L. Sowders – Leesville
Stephen L. Sowders, 64, Leesville, passes away at 6:24 a.m. on Saturday, November 19th at the Bloomington Hospital.
Born on March 28, 1947, in Lawrence County. He was the son of Delmar Sowders and O. Kathleen (Morrow) Sowders. Stephen was a restaurant owner, member of the I.C Mission Church and Masonic Lodge and Shriner. He married Mary E. Keel on May 20, 1975 and she survives.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, of Leesville; one son, S. Brett Sowders and his wife Ginger, of Heltonville; one daughter, Ginger Harrington and husband, Jesse; one granddaughter Shelby Sowders of Heltonville; two step granddaughters, Jessalyn and Emily Harrington; three brothers Larry, Brad and Scott Sowders and one sister, Rheadawn Inman.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and two sisters, Norma Bridwell and Pat Hamilton.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Elmwood chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with pastor Dennis Temple officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, November 26th from noon until the service hour. Following the service from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. family and friends are invited to a dinner at the community center in Leesville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the I.C. Mission Church in Medora.

Dylan Charles Duncan – Bedford
Dylan Charles Duncan, 24, of Bedford, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 in Bedford.
Born June 30, 1987, he was the son of Charles Duncan and Anna Blackwell. He was a 2006 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. He was employed by J.M. Blackwell General Contracting and attended the First Church of God.
Survivors include his mother Anna Blackwell and husband Jason; his father Charles Duncan and wife Dyan, all of Bedford; four sisters, Miranda Duncan, Grace Eggles, Jenna Blackwell and Addison Duncan, all of Bedford; his maternal grandmother, Linda Andis, of Bedford; aunts and uncles, Jeff and Alicia Albietz of Heltonville, Barry and Carla Wade and Lana Eicle, all of Bedford; a niece, Brylee Pursell.
He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Andis; his paternal grandparents, Russell and Mary Frances Duncan.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23rd, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Travis Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
