Evelyn Louise Tumey – Bedford
Evelyn Louise Turney, 98, of Bedford, died at 5;05 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at her home.
Born February 15, 1913 in Williams, Indiana, she was the daughter of Hershel and Gladyeth (Ferguson) Bowman. She married John W. Tumey and he preceded her in death in 1987. She as a homemaker and a Red Cross volunteer. She was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church, the White Cross and Women’s Temperance Society.
Survivors include a son, John T. Tumey, of Bedford; a brother, Welbon Bowman, of Goshen, Indiana; two grandchildren, Karen Elaine Butler and her husband, Jerry, of Mitchell and Brian Scott Tumey and his wife, Becky, of Bedford; three great grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Tumey, Kalee Faith Butler and Kylee Hope Butler; several cousins; neices and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Donald Earl and Miles Eugene Tumey, five brothers, Gail, Miles, Orely, Buck and Arnold Bowman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with pastor Travis Inman officiating. Burial will Follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery in Williams, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, October 1 at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Nadine R. Kinser – Mitchell
Nadine R. Kinser, 91, formerly of Mitchell, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011.
Born March 7, 1920, in Crawford County, she was the daughter of Joseph Thomas and
Opal (McDonald) Riley. She married Arthur R. Kinser November 26, 1938, and he preceded her in death November 8, 1973.
She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Nadine graduated from Orleans High School in 1938 and was a charter member of Mitchell First Church of God. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Seymour and Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include daughters; Janice and her husband Don Ragsdale, of Bloomington, Jacqueline and her husband Dan Drummond, of Seymour, Jayne and her husband Greg Hillan, of Greenwood; son in law, Bill Tritle, of Mitchell; grandchildren, Traci and her husband Chris Bell, Bill Tritle, Deann and her husband Stan Hawley, Michael and his wife Julia Drummond, and J. R. and his wife Kristin Drummond; great grandchildren, Amber and Terra Tritle; Peyton, Riley, and Samuel Drummond
.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jo Tritle; granddaughter,Terri (Tritle) Meadows; great grandson, Job Drummond; and sisters, Mildred Bates and Marie Trout.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, at the First Church of God in Mitchell with Rev. Roland Holtsclaw officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Chastain Funeral Home, 705 West Warren Street, Mitchell, and from10:00 a.m. until the service on Monday at the church.
The family ask that memorial gifts be made to Mitchell First Church of God in memory of Nadine.

Mary Frances Brewer – Bedford
Mary Frances Brewer, 88, 1911 Central Ave., Bedford, died at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at IU Health Bedford Hospital.
Born November 17, 1922 in Washington, Indiana. She was the daughter of Edwin W. and Ethel (Davis) Greenwood. She married Edward W. Brewer on October 4, 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1998. She was an office clerk at NWSC Crane for 35 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford. She had volunteered at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include two daughters; Mary Beth Owen and husband, Steve of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and Lisbeth Shawhan of Bedford; a son Thomas Brewer and wife, Kim of Columbia, Tennessee; two grandsons, Trevor Schmidt and Jacob Brewer; seven granddaughters, Stacey Kokes, Shelley Owen, Erin Skehan, Allison Groh, Jordan Shawhan, Brittany Reynolds and Chelsea Brewer; five great grandsons. Zackery and Kyle Kokes, Ethan, Brady and Jackson Groh; a great granddaughter, Maddyn Hatfield; a sister, Leila Padgett of Brookville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Anna Lois Thornton and two brothers, Royal and William Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 3 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 2 at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s choice.
