Michael Earl Pemberton – Mitchell
Michael Earl Pemberton of Mitchell passed away Wednesday evening, August 25th at his residence at the age of 55. Born in 1955 in Mitchell to James and Hazel Pemberton, he had been married to Theresa Yother since 1973. Michael was a self-employed carpet installer, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a graduate of Mitchell High School in the class of 1973. He is survived by his wife; sons, Alan Pemberton and his wife Misty and Elijah Pemberton; his parents; sister, Ila Freeman and her husband Mark; brothers, Andy Pemberton and his wife, Debbie; Sam Pemberton and his wife, Grace; Mark Pemberton and Clark Pemberton; as well as several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Pemberton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, August 28th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral home with burial to follow in Lawrenceport Cemetery; military honors will be accorded by Cecil C Martin American Legion Post No. 250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday and from 11:00AM until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Linda Kay Asbury – Mitchell
Linda Kay Asbury of Mitchell passed away Thursday morning, August 26th at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital at the age of 64. Born in 1946 in Lawrence County to Calvin and Beatrice Mundy, she was formerly married to Hubert Asbury. She is survived by daughters, Sandra and Scott Kimmel and his wife, Lisa and Barry Collins; sisters, Judy Asbury and her husband, Bill Beckett and his wife Amy; one brother, David a Mundy and his wife Kay; as well as several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30PM on Sunday, August 29th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lawrenceport Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Saturday and from 11:30AM until the hour of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
