Majel Goodin – Mitchell
Majel Goodin of Mitchell, formerly of Bedford passed away Monday evening, August 9th at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 96. Born in 1914 in Orange County to Ernest and Margaret Pickens, she had been married to Luther Goodin since 1934, was a homemaker, a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was the oldest graduate of Orleans High School. She is survived by one daughter, Judith Holsapple; one son, Richard Goodin; one sister Gayle Burton; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one sister, Hazel Rasche. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, August 15th at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:30AM until 1:30PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
Andrew Warthen Irwin – Mitchell
Andrew Warthen Irwin of Mitchell passed away at 5:00AM on Saturday, August 7th at his residence at the age of 79. Born in 1931 in Daytona, Florida to Andrew Irwin Sr., he was in the U.S. Navy for 31 years and was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Charles Thomas and Herbert Thomas; one sister, Anne Blocker; as well as several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Steve Thomas. No services are planned.
