Helen R. Roberts – Mitchell
Helen R. Roberts of Mitchell passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 8th at Bedford Regional Medical Center at the age of 93. Born in 1917 in Mitchell to James and Sarah Pemberton, she had been married to Carl W. Roberts since 1934, was a homemaker and was a lifetime member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church and the Missionary Society. She is survived by children, Joan Terrell and her husband Bill, David Roberts and his wife Carol; as well as several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Flossie Cook, Effie Payton, Mary Frost, Ruth Tolbert and Evangeline Baumunk; brothers, Jesse, Richard, Paul and Harold Pemberton; as well as one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, June 12th in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday and from 9:30AM until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
