Curtis L. Spear of Bloomington passed away Monday morning, January 25th at the Waters of Martinsville at the age of 84.
Born in 1925 in Lawrence County, Indiana to parents, Hubert and Lois (Kindred) Speer, he had been married to Maurine Peek since 1959.
Curtis was retired from Otis Elevator after 21 years of service, was a member of the Hillside Church of Christ and was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Rhonda Speer; one son, Roger Speer; two sisters, Juanita Shepperd and Geli Connerley; two brothers, Ed (Bud) Speer and Gerald Speer; one step-brother, David Tidd and two step-sisters, Eva Silvers and Virginia Wallace.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Mary Tidd Speer; five brothers, Everett, Wilburn, Jasper, Edwin and Belbert Speer; one sister, Geneva Henderson; four step-brothers, Paul, Charles, Raymond and Robert Tidd.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29th at 2:00PM at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, January 28th at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home.
