Vivian M. Watterson of Mitchell passed away Monday evening, October 5th at Mitchell Manor at the age of 95.
Born in 1914 in Washington County to mother Elva Williams, she had been married to George Watterson since 1936.
Vivian delivered buses for Carpenter Body Works in Mitchell, worked as the curator for the Lawrence County Museum, was a graduate of Mitchell High School and was a member of Spice Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, James P. Watterson and his wife Sharon; one daughter, Marilyn Sue Brown and her husband Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Susan King and her husband Steve, Lisa Morrow and her husband David, Mark Watterson, Tina Wyatt and her husband Marty, Tracy Brewer and her husband Berry, Theresa Clements and her husband Brady, Becky Niemann and her husband Mark, Cathy Williams and her husband Tim; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as one half-brother Richard Darnell.
She is preceded in death by her mother; husband; step-sister, Brenda Love; step-brother, Paul Thomas; half-brother, Noble Darnell; half-sister, Virginia Darnell and infant daughter, Mary Ann.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th at 2:00PM at Mitchell Cemetery with burial to follow.
Visitation is from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, October 8th at Ferguson-Lee Haverly Chapel.
