Johnnie B. Ringle on Mitchell passed away Tuesday morning at Garden Villa in Bedford at the age of 93.
Born in 1916 in Smithville, Tennessee to parents Frank Cheatham and Roxie (Humphrey) Sanders, she had been married to Louis Henry Ringle since 1940.
Johnnie was a graduate of Central City High School in the class of 1934, was a member of the Lawrence County Art Association, Prim Priscilla Club, Epilson Sigma Alpha, So & Sew Club and the Spring Mill Snitchers.
Johnnie attended the First Baptist Church and enjoyed oil painting, quilting and growing flowers.
She is survived by her children, Glenda Pershing and her husband Gary, Jim Ringle and his wife Rita, Mary Sterenberg and her husband Larry; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and sisters, Elizabeth Carroll, Quida Bowen and her husband Arbie.
She is preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Frank, Jack and Ed Sanders; as well as brother-in-law, James Carroll.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30AM in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2:00PM until 5:00PM on Sunday and from 9:30AM until the hour of service on Monday at Chastain Funeral Home.
