Etta Jean (Silver) May, 81, Bedford

Etta Jean (Silver) May of Bedford, passed away Wednesday morning at Garden Villa at the age of 81.


Born in 1928 to parents William and Poly Silvers, she had been married to Bill M. May.
Etta was retired from Indiana Bell Telephone/ATT after working there for 30 years in Bedford and Bloomington, she worked at Bedford Medical Center for 10 years, was a member of the Oolitic Methodist Church, the Telephone Pioneers of Indiana and was actively involved in the C.W.A.
She is survived by one son, Douglas K. May and his wife Vicki; two grandchildren, G.M. Kent May, Sarah Tess May; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Roberts; one brother, Tracy Silvers and his wife Hazel; sister-in-laws, Jeanette Silvers, Sandra Lovell and Judy Silvers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Desda Blackburn and four brothers, Carl, Jim, William and Bobby.
Services will be held on Friday at 1:00PM at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with burial to follow.
Visitation is Thursday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Day & Carter Mortuary.
