Donnie Edward Silvers, Sr., 62, of 1955 North County Road 1250 West Norman died at 4:30 P.M. on Friday, July 24, 2009 at his residence.
Born June 16, 1947 in New Castle, IN he was the son of James Silvers and Magdalene (New) New. He married Beverly Taylor on March 12, 1966 and she survives. He was an Electrician by trade and a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife Beverly of Norman; three sons: Donnie E. Silvers, Jr. and his wife Shelley of Heltonville, Corie Silvers and his wife Tressy of Bedford, and Bobbie Silvers and Jeffery Silvers of Bloomington; one daughter Tammie Silvers-Hernandez of Columbus, IN; six grandchildren: Aaron Silvers, Joey Silvers, Carissa Ramirez, Amanda Ramirez, Luis Hernandez, and Natalie Hernandez ; his mother Magdalene New of Bedford; three brothers: William Silvers and his wife Mamie of Bedford, and Landice Brent Silvers and his wife Thelma of Orleans, and Phillip New and his wife Linda of Bedford; He was preceded in death by his father, his step father who raised him from age 9 Noble New, and one brother Jerry Wayne Silvers.

At Donnie’s request cremation was chosen, no visitation or services are scheduled.
