George Joseph Caraway of Bedford passed away Sunday morning at Bedford Regional Medical center at the age of 70.
Born in 1938 in Bedford to parents Othel and Phyllis Caraway, George worked at Dunn Memorial Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2000; and was a graduate of William High School in the class of 1959 as well as a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl; two daughters, Katherine and Melissa; four grandchildren; two sisters, Anna and Mary; seven brothers, James, Tom, Steve, Charles, Paul, Greg, and Vincent; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Raymond; and one sister, Cecilia.
Arrangements are pending at Ferguson – Lee Funeral Home.
