Irene I. Schlenker of Bedford passed away Monday afternoon at Dunn Memorial Hospital at the age of 81.
Born in 1928 in Lawrence County to South and Thelma Jones, Irene was a homemaker and member of 1st Christian Church in Mitchell.
She is survived by her daughters Terri and Debbie, sister Wanda, brother Norman, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father Ernie, sister Gracie and 1 grandchild.
Services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00am at Cresthaven Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mitchell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm tomorrow at Cresthaven.
