Perry Dale Jenkins of Bedford passed away Wednesday afternoon at his home at the age of 76.
Born in 1932 in Lawrence County to Henry and Lilly Jenkins, Perry was a retiree of the US Army serving in Korea and Vietnam, worked at Otis Elevator and was a home builder, and was a member of American Legion Post 0708 of Indianapolis and of the protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife Annabelle, son Chris, sisters Alice, Janet and Zella, brothers John and Joe, 1 grandson, and 3 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Adina, son Jeffery, brothers Arthur, Bill and Hubert, and sisters Ethel, Letha and Helen.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at Knott Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2:00 until 8:00pm and again from 11:00am until time of service tomorrow at Day & Carter.
