Bessie Utterback Watson Terry of Mitchell passed away Wednesday afternoon at Jewish Hospital in Louisville at the age of 89.
Born in 1918 in Dunnville, Kentucky to Perry and Mary Owens, Bessie was a homemaker, retired nursing assistant at BRMC, and member of First Baptist Church, Mitchell Senior Citizens, Stone City Red Hats and former Hoosier Uplands Woman of the Year.
She is survived by her daughters Wanda and Martha, stepsons Donald and Larry, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Bud, James and Chester, brothers Leo, Dewey and Alvin, and sisters Rose, Nettie and Fannie.
Services will be held Monday morning at 10:00am at the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 7:00pm and again from 9:00am until time of service Monday at Chastain.
