Merle J. Moore of Bedford passed away Tuesday night at Stonebridge Health Campus at the age of 91.
Born in 1916 in Lawrence County to Lisker and bertha Moore, Merle was a retired truck driver at NSWC Crane, Army veteran of World War II and ex Prisoner of War, and member of Oolitic Church of Christ, American Legion Cecil Martin Post 250, A.F.G.E. Union, N.A.R.F.E and A.R.P.S.
He is survived by his wife Merdis, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Michael and Merlin, brother Wayne, and sisters Ilene, Cleophus, Catherine and Cleona.
Services will be held Saturday morning at 10:00am at the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with burial to follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm tomorrow at Day & Carter.
